Forged not by mortal hands, but by a massive volcanic eruption on the mysterious Guitiki island.

Rising from the core on a pillar of concentrated fire, Son of Guitiki is a beacon of primal rock power that calls to a new generation of players, its red eyes glowing with the raw, untamed force of the volcano, ready to bring the fire of creation to those who dare play it.

THE LEGACY: GUITIKI

The journey began in the mid-2000s, born from a passion for Tiki culture and surf music, evolved into a mission to build a fully realized, tiki-themed instrument. Dave Young partnered with David Thiele in 2020. Over three years of trial and error—hand-filing frets, crafting custom tools, and integrating analog electronics, the original "Guitiki" was born.

It went on to secure 2nd place at the 2023 San Diego County Fair and was featured as a Premier Guitar's Reader Guitar of the Month.

THE EVOLUTION: SON OF GUITIKI

Nearly two years in development, "Son of Guitiki" pushes the boundaries of the original concept. While the first guitar was a learning curve, this build focused on extreme design complexity. Featuring a Poplar body and a Maple neck with a striking Ebony fretboard and precision laser cut wood inlays.

The instrument is finished in a deep black lacquer, and the body flames and graphics are not painted but laser etched, removing just two-thousands of an inch of lacquer to reveal the poplar wood underneath.

The challenges were significant: matching the color of the
flame inlays across the neck and body, and calibrating the
laser to etch across the guitar's contoured surfaces.
Powered by TV Jones Power'Tron Plus and Magna'Tron humbuckers, the guitar is as sonically versatile as it is visually unique.
